Paradise aka Colorado

To quote my friend Molly, "Welcome to paradise.". We arrived in Colorado Springs yesterday afternoon road weary, but happy. First, I will review our campsites while in travel mode. In Amarillo we stayed at the Overnight RV park. We had stayed there once 2 years ago and will if we need to in the future. Very clean and well run. Not fancy, but for an overnight while on the road it is great. Nice trees, clean bathrooms, friendly staff and fairly level pull throughs.

Our first night in Colorado was spent in the springs at Fountain Creek RV Park. The same benefits as the park in Amarillo, but some serious traffic noise. Would only stay there as an overnight as the zooming cars and loud trucks would drive me insane.

Today (July 16) we spent them morning in CS showing Anna around a bit. We did a quick tour of Garden of the gods. Such a lovely place.

We had to be out of the RV park by noon, so we headed on to Littleton - Chatfield State Park.  Such a nice state park!  And so huge!  I will post more photos in a couple of days, but here are a few we took today.

This is the reservoir - about 20 feet low, but still nice.

I haven't seen carp this big since I was a kid. At least 20 pounders. I think they thought we were going to feed them.

For now, off to bed. Oh, and covering the windows tonight. The sun rises a little after 5 am - geez!
